Our confession of faith

The members of GAN proclaim their commitment to the following beliefs contained in the Holy Bible:

Article 1: God the Father

The Eternal One is the Most High God. He is worthy of the veneration of every human being. As Creator of the universe and Source of life, universal sovereignty belongs to Him (Revelation 4:11; I Timothy 6:15-16).

Article 2: Jesus Christ

(1) Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God who came in the flesh, died for the sin of mankind, was buried, rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the divine majesty; he will return to rapture his church, judge the world and establish his kingdom (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; I Thessalonians 4:16-17).

(2) Jesus Christ is :

  1. a) the only Saviour and Mediator between God and men (ITimothy 2:5) ;
  2. b) the only name given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12);
  3. c) the hope of all nations (Matthew 12:21);
  4. d) the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4, 19:6);
  5. e) the supreme Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22).  

Article 3: The Holy Spirit

(1) The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Divine Trinity (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:30; John 14:9-1 1);

(2) He is the Comforter of those who believe in Jesus Christ, and guides them into all truth (John 14:16);

(3) The ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit accompany the believer (John 7:37-39; Acts 1:4). 

Article 4: The Holy Trinity

God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit form the Holy Trinity of God (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:30; John 14:9-11).

Article 5: The Authority of the Holy Bible

(1) The Holy Bible is the Word of God and is therefore our final authority on all matters of life and doctrine;

(2) The principles of life contained in the Word of God, the Holy Bible, govern the way of life of the disciple, member of EVN (John 14:15).

Article 6: Baptism by water

To symbolise the identification of his person with the Lord Jesus Christ, the disciple must observe the ordinance of baptism by immersion (Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:36-39).  

Article 7: The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

(1) The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a promise made by the Lord Jesus Christ to all his disciples (Acts 1:8).

(2) The Lord Jesus Christ is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11)

(3) The disciple filled with the Holy Spirit receives the divine power that comes upon him. The covering of this power raises him to the level of a faithful witness of Christ.  

Article 8: The Great Commission

The Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations, is addressed to all those who have become disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28: 19-20).

Article 9: The doctrine of salvation

(1) All men have sinned and have fallen from the glory of God (Romans 3:2);

(2) Salvation is given by grace to everyone who repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 20:20-21);

(3) Salvation includes healing from all kinds of sickness, deliverance from sin, all forms of demonic control and curses. (Isaiah 53 : 5);

(4) God is Holy, and those who are saved must live holy lives (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:16; Romans 12:1-2).
